2017: Year of the Rooster! Experience the most vibrant and unique traditional Chinese festivities all across Melbourne this year. We have put together an extensive list featuring Melbourne’s best and biggest Chinese New Year events for you to enjoy:

1.    Box Hill Chinese New Year

Highlights: Central Box Hill will be filled with food, music and a spectacular traditional parade during the 12 hour event running from 1pm-1am.

Location: The Main Stage (intersection of Market Street & Main Street)

2.    Glen Waverley Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival

6.    Federation Square Chinese New Year

Highlights: Unifying the city’s Year of the Rooster celebrations and presenting a cohesive cultural experience for locals and visitors alike, the Chinese New Year Melbourne Festival running from 27 January until 12 February 2017 will offer spectacular lighting installations, cultural performances, food experiences and public activities designed to encourage people from diverse backgrounds to come together and celebrate.
